Tour Manager (Driving and Narration) and Tour Representatives (Narration Only)

Part Time or Full Time/Seasonal Available 

JHA Tour Managers and Representatives serve to represent the John Hall’s Alaska organization at all times – while on board the motorcoach, with guests and around partners, and throughout our Alaska and Minnesota operations.   Tour Managers will navigate and safely operate all aspects of the John Hall’s Alaska programs while sharing Alaska with visitors.  Tour Representatives work alongside a JHA Motorcoach operator to share Alaska with visitors.

Expectations:

  • Operate motorcoach in safe and productive manner (Tour Manager only)
  • Understand motorcoach operations and maintenance/safety requirements
  • Narrate knowledge, history and content of Alaska, the Yukon, or the Canadian Rockies to John Hall’s Alaska clients to the highest quality among Alaska
  • Previous experience in Alaska required – 3-5 years recommended
  • Responsible for sharing extensive Alaska knowledge with visitors
  • Responsible for successful tour operations meeting John Hall’s Alaska standards
  • Ensure quality product of John Hall’s Alaska standards are met and delivered from John Hall’s Alaska partners with along the tour route.  This includes assisting in the success operations such as information gathering, sharing required details with guests and other administrative duties in accordance with tour operations.
  • Responsible management of guest luggage including delivery, loading and accuracy in luggage delivery/luggage pulls.

Motorcoach Operators – Licensed CDL Drivers

John Hall’s Alaska includes one of the newest and most recognizable fleet across Alaska.  As a result, we also have the highest standard of CDL Motorcoach Operators across Alaska.  Individuals are responsible for the safety, wellness and quality of transportation provided.  Motorcoach operators are also responsible for maintaining the John Hall’s Alaska fleet to the highest brand expectations including cleanliness and guest comfort.

  • Operate motorcoach in safe and productive manner (Tour Manager only)
  • Understand motorcoach operations and maintenance/safety requirements
  • Current, valid, and clean record with a CDL
  • Must at least be class B and have a passenger and air brake endorsement
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience driving a motorcoach
  • Work alongside John Hall’s Alaska Tour Representatives or charter companies to ensure experience and expectations are met
  • Any necessary administrative tasks to support tour operations or driving requirements
  • Responsible management of guest luggage including delivery, loading and accuracy in luggage delivery/luggage pulls.

Fleet Shop Foreman/Mechanic – CDL Driver 

John Hall’s Alaska is proud to operate the newest fleet of MCI J4500 in Alaska.  The Fleet Shop Foreman and Mechanic will be responsible for the day-to-day operations in accordance with the maintenance, preparation and operation of the John Hall’s Alaska fleet.  The individual will inspect, repair and maintain fleet including managing maintenance deadlines, ordering parts, management of supplies and assist in educating drivers on equipment.   

JHA Transportation Services also provides the highest quality of service for JHA Alaska partners fleet and vehicles.  This includes servicing, scheduling and administrative requirements association with servicing vehicles as hired by John Hall’s Alaska partners.

  • Current, valid, and clean record with a CDL
  • Must at least be class B and have a passenger and air brake endorsement
  • 3-5 years experience working on variety of large fleet operations, including, but not limited to MCI J4500
  • Meet physical requirements associated with position including lifting

Ground Operations (Seasonal)

John Hall’s Alaska Ground Operations is a key role in successful guest experience.  This role actively participates in all facilitating guest arrivals, departures and tour/motorcoach preparation.  This is a seasonal position from June to August and requires flexible scheduling including evenings and weekends.

Expectations:

  • Professional behavior and courtesy must be demonstrated at all times
  • Facilitate all guest arrival and departure experiences
  • Friendly, outgoing personality willing to work alongside airport operations
  • Other duties as requested by Lead Ground operations
  • Assist in creating pre/post tour documentation with Lead Ground Operations
  • Facilitate welcoming and departure of all guests in Anchorage, Fairbanks and Sitka and Juneau. Primarily based in Anchorage but may be requested to travel to another location for 1-3 days assistance
  • Reports directly to Lead Ground Operations
  • Most importantly: Go above and beyond. John Hall’s Alaska is in business to exceed the customers’ expectations. For any John Hall’s Alaska employee, the terminology “no we can’t” does not exist
  • Use every resource necessary and possible to meet the clients’ needs
