Tour Manager and Tour Representatives
(Part Time or Full Time/Seasonal)
JHA Tour Managers and Representatives serve to represent the John Hall’s Alaska organization at all times – while on board the motorcoach, with guests and around partners, and throughout our Alaska and Minnesota operations.*
Expectations:
- Professional behavior and courtesy must be demonstrated at all times
- Operate motorcoach in safe and productive manner
- Understand motorcoach operations and maintenance/safety requirements
- Narrate knowledge, history and content of Alaska, the Yukon, or the Canadian Rockies to John Hall’s Alaska clients
- Share extensive knowledge of area
- Ensure quality product is delivered from those vendors John Hall’s Alaska partners with along the tour route
- Most importantly: Go above and beyond. John Hall’s Alaska is in business to exceed the customers’ expectations. For any John Hall’s Alaska employee, the terminology “no we can’t” does not exist
- Use every resource necessary and possible to meet the clients’ needs
Qualifications:
- High school completion
- Extensive knowledge of Alaska. Knowledge of Yukon/Canadian Rockies history a plus
- Ability to both answer questions and narrate while operating the motorcoach in safe manor simultaneously
- Organized and well kept
- Ability to keep time deadlines ensuring groups arrive at cruise ship, hotels, and meals in a timely fashion
Motorcoach Operators CDL Drivers in Minnesota and Alaska operations
John Hall’s Alaska is a proud leader in compensation based on loyalty and years of dedication
to the team. All transportation and overnight costs incurred are included with seasonal work,
and compensation for meals while traveling. Employees are eligible for a yearly safety bonus
based on motorcoach upkeep and cleanliness along with yearly bonus for years of service to the
industry and John Hall’s Alaska.
- Current, valid, and clean record with a CDL
- Must at least be class B and have a passenger and air brake endorsement
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience driving a motorcoach
- Knowledge of motorcoach operations and basic maintenance
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Uphold motorcoach cleanliness standards as a positive representation of John Hall’s Alaska
*Positions available in Alaska and Minnesota, both seasonally and year round
Cruise Representative (Seasonal)
JHA Representatives serve to represent the John Hall’s Alaska organization at all times in Southeast Alaska through partnerships with small and large overnight vessels along with the custom John Hall’s Alaska Platinum Inside Passage experience.
Expectations:
- Professional behavior and courtesy must be demonstrated at all times
- Serve as representation and liaison to all southeast Alaska, cruiseline, cruise vessel and charter partners
- Partner with Director of Operations and Southeast Alaska partners to ensure product runs on time, accurately and make on site adjustments if necessary
- Narrate knowledge, history and partnerships of Southeast Alaska
- Ensure quality product is delivered from those vendors John Hall’s Alaska partners

- Use every resource necessary and possible to meet the clients’ needs

- Ability to keep time deadlines ensuring groups arrive at cruise vessels, hotels, and meals in a timely fashion
Lead Ground Operations (Full Time or Seasonal)
John Hall’s Alaska Lead Ground Operations is a key role in successful guest experience. This role oversees all guest arrivals, departures, ground operations team and other duties to assist in ensuring tour preparation. This is available for a full time year round or seasonal position. Historically Monday to Friday however may require some evenings and weekends throughout summer.
Expectations:
- Professional behavior and courtesy must be demonstrated at all times
- Oversee all Anchorage team operations including ground operations
- Serve as a liaison between all hotel, transportation and other partners involved in guest operations
- Schedule all contractors, work and team members for tasks
- Create pre/post tour documentation with Director of Tour Operations
- Ensure quality product is delivered from partners and John Hall’s Alaska team to facilitate welcoming and departure of all guests in Anchorage, Fairbanks and Sitka and Juneau
- Reports directly to COO of John Hall’s Alaska, works in conjunction with Director of Tour Operations

- Use every resource necessary and possible to meet the clients’ needs
Qualifications:
- High school completion
- Well versed in Microsoft Office Suite – including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Organized and well kept
- Strong communication skills and organization of team members/operations
- Strong interpersonal skills
Ground Operations (Seasonal)
John Hall’s Alaska Ground Operations is a key role in successful guest experience. This role actively participates in all guest arrivals, departures and tour/motorcoach preparation. This is a seasonal position from June to August and requires flexible scheduling including evenings and weekends.
Expectations:
- Professional behavior and courtesy must be demonstrated at all times
- Facilitate all guest arrival and departure experiences
- Other duties as requested by Lead Ground operations
- Assist in creating pre/post tour documentation with Lead Ground Operations
- Facilitate welcoming and departure of all guests in Anchorage, Fairbanks and Sitka and Juneau. Primarily based in Anchorage but may be requested to travel to another location for 1-3 days assistance
- Reports directly to Lead Ground Operations
