Itinerary

Day 1ANCHORAGE

Welcome to the metropolitan city of Anchorage, Alaska! A John Hall’s Alaska representative greets all guests on arrival and escorts to accommodations for the evening. Anchorage has much to offer for those who wish to explore the downtown and Anchorage Museum. Dinner is at leisure.

Day 2SEWARD

After breakfast, enjoy a city tour of Anchorage before the journey south to the Kenai Peninsula. In Seward, enjoying a 6-hour Kenai Fjords National Park wildlife cruise.

Day 3TALKEETNA

Travel north up the Seward Highway before arriving at the Alaska State Fair. Continue to Talkeetna and settle into the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge, offering breathtaking views of the south side of Denali National Park.

Day 4DENALI NATIONAL PARK

This morning, join the Mahay family for a thrilling (enclosed) jetboat tour of Devil’s Canyon. This afternoon, enjoy a relaxing scenic drive before arriving at the gates of Denali National Park.

Day 5DENALI NATIONAL PARK

Wake up to nature this morning! Board a sightseeing bus for the 42-mile Denali National Park experience. During the drive be on the lookout for moose, caribou, wolves, grizzly bears and of course the mountains.

Day 6DENALI ADVENTURE DAY

Begin the day with a choice of included activity, choosing from an ATV trek, ziplining or a whitewater river rafting adventure. After lunch, board the Alaska Railroad glass-domed GoldStar experience, enjoying dinner in route to Fairbanks, Alaska’s Golden Heart City.

Day 7FAIRBANKS & TOK

Visit Trail Breaker Kennel – home of the late four-time Iditarod champion Susan Butcher. Have time for lunch, an Iditarod presentation and time with the puppies. Stop at North Pole, Alaska before the journey on the Alaska Highway begins. Keep cameras close as the scenery will be grand.  Arrive in Tok this afternoon for one evening.

Day 8KLUANE NATIONAL PARK

Visit the Stunning Kluane National Park and tour the Da Ku Cultural Center. The day is filled with mountains, lakes and plentiful wildlife along the way! Arrive in Whitehorse, the capital of the Yukon.

Day 9WATSON LAKE

Begin the day with a stop at the Yukon Transportation Museum illustrating the rugged Yukon Territory. Leaving Whitehorse, witness Teslin Lake before arriving in Watson Lake this evening.

Day 10MUNCHO LAKE

Before leaving Watson Lake, take in Sign Post Forrest, home to thousands of signs. Spend the morning enjoying the dramatic views of the river and cliffs before arriving in scenic Muncho Lake, one of North America’s most prolific wildlife viewing areas. Relax on the banks with the late afternoon free for exploring this beautiful area.

Day 11FORT NELSON

Pass through amazing Stone Mountain Provincial Park, home of the beautiful Stone Sheep. With any luck, witness these impressive animals licking salt along the highway and up the roadside cliffs. Visit the Fort Nelson Heritage Museum and view the incredible displays before arriving at the hotel for one evening.

Day 12DAWSON CREEK

Before entering Alberta, make a stop in Dawson Creek, home to the “Mile 0” and the completion of the journey south on the Alaska Highway.

Day 13JASPER NATIONAL PARK

Journey through the Canadian Rockies and into Jasper National Park this morning. Look for mountain sheep and elk along the way! Spend the afternoon in the wonderful mountain village of Jasper.

Day 14ICEFIELDS PARKWAY

Witness roaring Athabasca Falls before lunch overlooking Athabasca Glacier. Join an Ice Explorer coach ride and brief hike on Athabasca Glacier. Settle into the two nights’ accommodations located in the middle of the Columbia Icefields, Lake Louise Inn.

Day 15BANFF NATIONAL PARK

Visit Peyto Lake, Lake Louise & Moraine Lake before arriving in Banff. Take a breathtakingly beautiful gondola ride up Sulphur Mountain. Once at the top, have lunch, explore the short hiking trails, and visit the cultural interpretive center. Enjoy a free afternoon in Banff before returning to the hotel dinner.

Day 16KAMLOOPS

Step back in time at the heritage ghost town of Three Valley Gap with a guided tour of the historic buildings before entering the Cascade Mountains. The scenery in Kamloops is stunning. The hotel allows for multiple places to relax and enjoy the view.

Day 17SEATTLE

See beautiful Puget Sound before arriving in the bustling city of Seattle, Washington. Enjoy the afternoon at  leisure before a farewell group dinner.

ARRANGING YOUR FLIGHTS

This tour begins in Anchorage, Alaska and ends in Seattle, Washington. On Day 1, flights should arrive in Anchorage by 6pm; early check-in cannot be guaranteed before 4pm. On Day 18, flights may depart Seattle after 8am.
