MAKING A RESERVATION AND DEPOSITS
Reservations can be made directly to John Hall’s Alaska by mail, telephone, or in person. Reservations are confirmed with receipt of your deposit. Mastercard, Visa, Discover, American Express, and personal checks are acceptable forms of deposit payment.
ALASKA TOURS
To confirm your reservation on a John Hall’s Alaska tour, please send a deposit of $500 USD per person within ten days of your reservation. To reserve your space by credit card, please contact our office: 800.325.2270.
A discount of $200 USD per person will be extended for those paying their tour balance by cash or check.
FINAL PAYMENTS
There are no monies due between the deposit and the final payment. We will send final payment reminders to you two weeks before the due date. If you intend to take out trip insurance, please do so before making your final payment.
ALL ALASKA TOUR PACKAGES:
Final Payment must reach John Hall’s Alaska 90 days prior to tour departure date. If payment is not received on time, space may be released. Re-booking will be subject to availability. MasterCard, Visa, Discover, American Express, and personal checks are acceptable forms of payment. Guests will be charged $35 USD per check that is submitted with insufficient funds.
INTERNATIONAL GUESTS
Check payments must be in USD funds or via wire transfer. Please contact our office to confirm current exchange rates before making your final payment.
CANCELLATION POLICY
ALASKA TOURS
If a cancellation is made in writing at least 91 days prior to departure, a full refund will be made, minus a 4% fee on any monies originally paid by credit card. For cancellations made less than 90 days prior to departure, the following per person charges apply:
90-61 days – deposit amounts
60-46 days – 50% of total tour fare
45-31 days – 75% of total tour fare
30-0 days – 100% of total tour fare
REBOOKING POLICY
If you are currently booked on a tour and would like to transfer your reservation to the following year, you can do so at no charge, as long as you are outside of your final payment date. Some tours may not run each year or in the same months as previous years, please check with our office to see if your tour is available the following year.
ADDITIONAL HOTEL STAYS & EXCURSIONS
If you would like to enhance your tour with extra overnights before or after your land tour or exclusive sailing, you will enjoy our net rates where possible. The cost of these additional hotel overnights will be added to your final payment amount. For the most part, the costs of optional land excursions in the interior of Alaska (i.e., fishing trips, white water rafting, bear viewing excursions) will also be added to your final payment amount. However, some Alaska partners require upfront payment for these excursion reservations.
WHAT IS INCLUDED WITH A JOHN HALL’S ALASKA PACKAGE?
LAND TOURS
All meals, accommodations, activities, transportation (land, rail, and small plane, where applicable to the itinerary), fully guided service by industry professionals, baggage handling, gratuities pertaining to meals, activities, and luggage handling, taxes, transfers, fees, and your personalized John Hall’s Alaska jacket.
INSIDE PASSAGE SAILINGS
All meals, accommodations, exclusive sailing gratuities, gratuities pertaining to hotel charges and sailing staff, taxes, transfers, fees, and port charges. Daily activities are included with the option to add on optional activities (at an additional cost) as time allows.
WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED?
Airfare to and from your destination, optional excursions, and travel insurance is not included.
Discretionary gratuities for your John Hall’s Alaska tour representatives are not included.
Gratuities are offered at the discretion of the guest and should be based on service and experience received; we suggest:
- On Land – Tour Manager (Single Individual Only): $10 per traveler per day
- On Land – Tour Representative and Driver (combination): $5-7 per traveler per day per John Hall’s Alaska Team member
- At Sea – Tour Representative: around $5 per traveler per day
SINGLE TRAVELERS & SINGLE SUPPLEMENTS
On Land Packages: As a service to our single travelers, we will assist in arranging a roommate. Please note that a roommate cannot be guaranteed. You will initially be booked under a single supplement fare and moved to a double occupancy fare if a suitable roommate is found.
On Sailings: A limited number of cabins are available on each ship for single occupancy. Please call for pricing and availability on the departure of your choice.
FAMILIES & MINORS TRAVELING
Hotel and lodging partners require that all guests have an adult over 18 years old assigned to each room in order to stay at the property.
QUALIFYING FOR FRIENDS & FAMILY (MULTI-CABIN) DISCOUNT
We offer a “Friends and Family” discount for anyone taking a land and cruise combination package or land-only tour with us. If your friends or family go with you and reserve multiple cabins, we pass savings on to the first 2 persons in each cabin! Discounts are as follows:
2-3 Cabins = $50 per person
4-7 Cabins = $100 per person
8-11 Cabins = $150 per person
12 or more = Call us for even better group pricing!
Discounts may be retroactively applied. Meaning, that you may book and if a friend or family member books after you do, we will retroactively apply the discount to your account as well as theirs.
TOUR INTERRUPTIONS AND REVISIONS
For the sake of providing a tour enjoyable to all guests, John Hall’s Alaska reserves the right to request that a guest leave the tour if the guest’s behavior becomes disruptive to other tour guests. The costs associated with returning home early will be the guest’s responsibility.
Due to unforeseen circumstances that may occur to or by our tour partners, John Hall’s Alaska reserves the right to revise the services included in the itinerary such as hotel accommodations, means of transportation, meals, and attractions. In the case of substitutions, every effort will be made to provide services of comparable or better quality. Exclusive sailing itineraries are guidelines and due to permitting and the nature of our explorations, changes may occur and the order of days may vary by departure.
PASSENGER CONTRACT
A passenger contract is supplied upon final payment.
FORCE MAJEURE
In the event of unforeseen circumstances, John Hall’s Alaska reserves the right to adjust or suspend operations of programs to ensure the safety, health, and experience of guests inside their final payment date. Pending proximity of the guest’s departure date, all monies would be transferable to a future travel date.
HEALTH & SAFETY
Guests must provide proof of negative COVID-19 testing before joining a John Hall’s Alaska program. Guests will not be allowed to board the motorcoach or travel with other passengers until at least one test has been provided showing negative test results, administered within 72 hours of departing for your Alaska tour.
It is the responsibility of the guest to determine if vaccination is needed. John Hall’s Alaska makes it a guest’s choice, instead of a mandate. Travelers who have received the vaccination should advise the John Hall’s Alaska team. Be advised, that some locations and tour packages require vaccinations due to remote locations, CDC, or other requirements.
