MAKING A RESERVATION and DEPOSITS
Reservations may be made directly to John Hall’s Alaska by mail, telephone, or in person. Reservations are confirmed with receipt of your deposit. Mastercard, Visa, Discover, American Express and personal checks are acceptable forms of deposit payment.
ALASKA TOURS:
To confirm your reservation on an Alaska tour, please send a deposit of $500.00 USD per person within ten days of your reservation. To reserve your space by credit card, please contact our office: 800.325.2270.
A discount of $200 USD per person will be extended for those paying their tour balance by cash or check.
WORLD ADVENTURE TOURS:
To confirm your reservation on a World Adventure tour, please send a deposit of $1000.00 USD per person ($2000.00 USD per person for Iconic Southern Africa) within ten days of your reservation. To reserve your space by credit card, please contact our office: 800.325.2270.
If paying for your tour by check or cash, a check discount will apply. Check discounts vary on our World Adventures and are listed here:
Western National Parks: $300 per person
Hawaii: $300 per person
Scotland and Ireland; $200 per person
Iconic Southern Africa: $300 per person
Australia and New Zealand: $300 per person
FINAL PAYMENTS
There are no monies due between the deposit and the final payment. We will send final payment reminders to you two weeks before the due date. If you intend to take out trip insurance, please do so before making your final payment.

Final Payment must reach John Hall’s Alaska 90 days prior to tour departure date. If payment is not received on time, space may be released. Re-booking will be subject to availability. Mastercard, Visa, Discover, American Express, and personal checks are acceptable forms of payment. Guests will be charged $35 USD per check that is submitted with insufficient funds.
ICONIC SOUTHERN AFRICA:
Final Payment must reach John Hall’s Alaska 120 days prior to tour departure date. If payment is not received on time, space may be released. Re-booking will be subject to availability. Mastercard, Visa, Discover, American Express and personal checks are acceptable forms of payment. Guests will be charged $35 USD per check that is submitted with insufficient funds.
INTERNATIONAL GUESTS:
Check payments must be in USD funds. Please contact our office to confirm current exchange rates before final payment.
cancellatioN POLICY
ALASKA TOURS:
If a cancellation is made in writing at least 90 days prior to departure, a full refund will be made, minus a 4% fee on any monies originally paid by credit card. For cancellations made less than 90 days prior to departure, the following per person charges apply:
90-61 days - deposit amounts
60-46 days - 50% of total tour fare
45-31 days prior to departure - 75% of total tour fare
30-0 days- 100% of total tour fare
HAWAII TOURS:
If a cancellation is made in writing at least 90 days prior to departure, a full refund will be made. For cancellations made less than 90 days prior to departure, the following per person charges apply:
60-90 days - 50% of total charges
Inside of 60 days -100% of fare
AUSTRALIA/NEW ZEALAND TOURS:
If a cancellation is made in writing at least 90 days prior to departure, a full refund will be made. For cancellations made less than 90 days prior to departure, the following per person charges apply:
60-90 days - 50% of total charges
45- 59 days - 75% of total charges
Inside of 45 days - 100% of fare
ICONIC SOUTHERN AFRICA TOURS:
If a cancellation is made in writing at least 120 days prior to departure, a full refund will be made. For cancellations made less than 120 days prior to departure, the following per person charges apply:
60-120 days - 50% of total charges
Inside of 60 days - 100% of fare
IRELAND/SCOTLAND TOURS:
If a cancellation is made in writing at least 90 days prior to departure, a full refund, minus credit card fees, will be made. For cancellations made less than 90 days prior to departure, the following per person charges apply:
60-90 days - 50% of total charges
45- 59 days - 75% of total charges
Inside of 45 days - 100% of fare
WESTERN NATIONAL PARKS TOURS:
If a cancellation is made in writing at least 90 days prior to departure, a full refund will be made. For cancellations made less than 90 days prior to departure, guests will lose 100% of money paid.
In the event of interruption or cancellation of your tour after its commencement, there will be no refunds. For this reason, we recommend taking out trip insurance. Cancellations are subject to a 4% fee on any monies originally paid by credit card. Tour payments made by check are not subject to this 4% fee.
RE-BOOKING POLICY
If you are currently booked on a tour and would like to transfer your reservation to the following year, you can do so at no charge, as long as you are outside of your final payment date. Some World Adventures do not run every year, so please check with our office to see if your tour is available the following year.
additional hotel stays and excursions
If you would like to add extra overnights to your package, you will enjoy our net rates where possible. The cost of these additional hotel overnights will be added to your final payment amount. For the most part, the costs of additional land excursions in the interior of Alaska (i.e. fishing trips, white water rafting, bear viewing excursions) will be added to your final payment amount. However, some Alaska partners will require upfront payment for these excursion reservations.
SHORE EXCURSIONS:
If cruising on a large ship, a variety of shore excursions are available to you. Shore excursions will be booked directly through your cruise line's website. We are happy to book them for you. Shore excursions require payment at the time of booking by credit or debit card. Confirmations will be emailed to you directly from the cruise line.
WHAT Is INCLUDED WITH A JOHN HALL'S ALASKA PACKAGE?
LAND TOURS:
All meals, accommodations, activities, transportation (land, rail, and small plane where applicable to the itinerary), fully guided service by industry professionals, baggage handling, gratuities pertaining to meals, activities and luggage handling, taxes, transfers, fees, and your personalized John Hall's Alaska jacket or memento (on World Adventures).
INSIDE PASSAGE ADVENTURES: All meals, accommodations, cruise line gratuities, gratuities pertaining to hotel charges and cruise line staff, taxes, transfers, fees, port charges. Daily activities are included with the option to add on optional activities (for a cost) as time allows.
WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED?
Airfare to and from your destination is not included. If cruising on a large ship, cruise line shore excursions are not included.
Discretionary gratuities for your John Hall's Alaska representatives (your Land Tour Manager and your Cruise Concierge) are not included.
Tipping of John Hall's Alaska staff should be done at your discretion and should reflect the job performance of your Tour Manager/Cruise Manager. We will only provide these industry standards -
On Land: We suggest a minimum of $10 per person, per day for your Land Tour Manager.
At Sea: We suggest a minimum of $20.00 per person for your Cruise Concierge, per 7 day cruise. So, if taking a 14 day cruise, $40 per person for the cruise is the norm.
SINGLE TRAVELERS and SINGLE SUPPLEMENTS
On Cruises: A limited number of cabins are available on each ship for single occupancy. Please call for pricing and availability on the departure of your choice. We will gladly shop all cruise lines for your preferred cabin and itinerary.
On Land Packages: As a service to our single travelers, we will assist in arranging a roommate. Please note that a roommate cannot be guaranteed. You will initially be booked under a single supplement fare and moved to a double occupancy fare if a suitable roommate is found.
QUALIFYING FOR FRIENDS and FAMILY DISCOUNT (MULTI-CABIN DISCOUNT)
We offer a "Friends and Family" discount for anyone taking a land and cruise combination package or land-only tour with us. If you get your friends or family to go with you and reserve multiple cabins, we pass savings on to the first 2 persons in each cabin! Discounts are as follows:
2-3 Cabins = $50 per person
4-7 Cabins = $100 per person
8-11 Cabins = $150 per person
12 or more = Call us for even better group pricing!
Discounts may be retroactively applied. Meaning, you may book and if a friend or family member books after you do, we will go back and apply the discount to your account as well as theirs.
TOUR INTERRUPTIONS and revisions
For the sake of providing a tour enjoyable to all guests, John Hall’s Alaska reserves the right to request that a guest leave the tour if the guest’s behavior becomes disruptive to other tour guests. The costs associated with returning home early will be the guest’s responsibility.
Due to unforeseen circumstances that may occur to or by our tour vendors, John Hall’s Alaska reserves the right to revise the services included in the itinerary such as hotel accommodations, means of transportation and attractions. In the case of substitutions, every effort will be made to provide services of comparable or better quality
Passenger Contract
Guests will receive a passenger contract prior to the final payment date. It is requested that all guests acknowledge and return the passenger contract to John Hall’s Alaska before final documents can be sent.
Force Majeure
In the event of unforeseen circumstances, John Hall’s Alaska reserves the right to adjust or suspend operations of programs to ensure the safety, healthy and experience of guests inside their final payment date. Pending close proximity of guest’s departure date, all monies would be transferable to future travel date.
