FLIGHT INFORMATION

This tour begins in Fairbanks, Alaska and ends in Anchorage, Alaska. Upon completion of the tour, you may return home on flights from Anchorage any time after 11am.

TOUR HIGHLIGHTS

  • DAY 1: FAIRBANKS, AK

    Catch your flight today to Fairbanks. Upon arrival, you will be greeted at the airport by a John Hall’s Alaska representative and transferred to your luxury accommodations for the night.

  • DAY 2: DOG SLEDDING & AURORA VIEWING

    After a group welcome breakfast and a leisurely morning around the lodge, we are off to the Trail Breaker Kennels for an afternoon of dog sled rides with a behind the scenes look at the kennel and the Monson family homestead.  Tonight enjoy dinner and a presentation by Mr. Frank Stegles. Frank is a well-respected photographer of the aurora and he will share his tips on how to properly set up your camera to be able to capture the northern lights. With the comfort of a climate controlled yert, view the Aurora into the early morning hours.

  • DAY 3: ARCTIC CIRCLE, EVANSVILLE, & AURORA LIGHTS

    After a late night of aurora viewing, guests will have the ability to sleep in and enjoy breakfast at their leisure.  Early this afternoon we will board a waiting fleet of Navajo Chieftains (8 passenger aircraft) for a flight to Bettles, Alaska. Bettles sits 35 miles north of the Arctic Circle and is home to the Visitor’s Center for Gates of the Arctic National Park and the hospitality that awaits at the historic Bettles Lodge.  After a homemade lunch at the lodge, the proprietors will lead you out on a walking tour of the area that includes a look inside the neighboring Inupiaq community of Evansville.  Late this afternoon return to Fairbanks to rest up before another late evening of aurora viewing at the colorful Chatanika Lodge.

    Today's Highlights: Arctic Circle Trip to Bettles, Inupiag Community of Evansville, Aurora Viewing at Chatanika Lodge.

  • DAY 4: TALKEETNA & NORTHERN LIGHTS

    Sleep in and then travel by coach to Talkeetna via the Parks Highway. Grab some photos of Mt. Denali before making a lunch stop in Healy at Rose's, home to an 125 year old sourdough starter. The owner Dave is proud to show off the starter for his homemade breads and pancakes and claims that his starter came to Alaska by way of prospectors who landed in Dawson City during the Klondike Gold Rush. Arrive in Talkeetna this evening for dinner and some local entertainment. The Talkeenta Alaskan Lodge will have a fire roaring in the fireplace into the early morning hours for those who elect to view the Northern Lights from the lodge's expansive back porch.

  • DAY 5: MT. DENALI FLIGHTSEEING & BEER TASTING

    Rise & Shine!  The day will begin with brunch served family style at the Talkeetna Roadhouse. After a chance to walk off some of the calories by strolling the streets and shops of downtown Talkeetna, enjoy a two hour flightseeing tour that not only highlights Denali, but includes a fly-by of Hunter, Foraker, Silverthorne & Moose’s Tooth peaks before landing in the Great Gorge.  Late this afternoon, guests partake in a tasting tour and behind the scenes look at one of Alaska’s most successful micro-brewery, the Denali Brewing Company.  This is a great look at one of the fastest growing industries not only in Alaska, but nationwide and is the perfect transition to dinner in downtown Talkeetna. The Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge will again have the fireplace roaring for those who wish to spend time outdoors enjoying the Aurora light show.

  • DAY 6: ANCHORAGE, GIRDWOOD & ALYESKA

    Relax this morning before making your way to Girdwood and the Alyeska Resort. In route to Girdwood, spend some time in downtown Anchorage for some fun, Alaskan-style shopping and lunch at your choice of several amazing venues. This evening, ride the tram up the Alyeska mountain and dine at the award winning Seven Glaciers restaurant.

    Overnight: Alyeska Resort, Girdwood

    Today's Highlights: Anchorage, Girdwood, Alyeska Resort, Mountain Tram Ride, Seven Glaciers Restaurant.

  • DAY 7: ALYESKA ADVENTURE DAY

    Create your own adventure today!  You have the option of choosing between a day on the slopes (including lift ticket & rental gear), a day at the spa (choose from a pre-selected menu of relaxing treatments), or a 5.5 hour snowmobile tour highlighting the glaciers and backcountry valleys of the Chugach Mountains.  Regroup tonight for dinner at one of the local's favorites as we say our farewells.

    Overnight: Alyeska Resort, Girdwood

    Today's Highlights: Guest choice of Skiing, Snowmobiling, or Spa Treatment at the Alyeska Resort.

  • DAY 8: FLY HOME (ANCHORAGE, AK)

    Breakfast at the hotel before heading back to Anchorage for your flights home. Please refrain from booking flights that depart prior to 11am. Anchorage is a great stepping stone to the Alaskan wilderness so please let us know if you would like to extend your journey!
